Kenna Barnes is a food illustrator passionate about all things delicious!

They say, “Do what you love.” — well, Kenna loves eating. Her journey has had a few twists and turns, from fashion to animation, production to development — but now that she has happily landed in food illustration, she’s here to stay.

Kenna works on a range of food design for clients of all sizes, including Food Network Canada, local restaurants & bakeries, and your average Joe who wants to spruce up their kitchen with an illustrated family recipe. Most recently, the gig that put food on her table was CBC’s The Great Canadian Baking Show, where she was the illustrator for Seasons 1-5. You can catch up on old episodes on CBC Gem, Amazon Prime, and Netflix. And if you’re curious, you can read more about her process on the show!

Since leaving The Great Canadian Baking Show, Kenna has returned to school and is currently acquiring a Post Graduate Certificate in Publishing, planning to head into the wonderful world of cookbooks. She hopes to land in an editor role, but will happily lend her hand in illustrations, as well.

Kenna’s goal, as with any great meal, is to leave her clients happy, satisfied, and full with joy. She is always happy to engage with other passionate foodies, so feel free to follow her @thehungryillustrator. If you have a project in mind, please head to the Contact tab and say hello!
